In my one project, at many aspx pages I am getting below error.
Could anyone please give me solution of this.

Hi,

Thanks for your immediate reply!

But, if I check session on other aspx pages, the session
state is perfectly available.

What could be any other possiblity for this ... can you
please tell me ...

Can anyone suggest me some good tools to format my aspx page , my aspx page
in an application is very much poorly formatted,
I can't even figure out some of the ending tags exactly and aspx
code-behind really look bad.( I know the vs.net edit and formatting will do
up to a limit )

Also i am not sure is there any specific format that we should follow in
the aspx code behind like 65 chars per line(something like this).Can any one
point me to a link reg this?

Is there any add ins or some tools , that we can use in vs.net editor , so
that some of the conditions will be applied automatically while we create
the aspx page.

HariAs far as specific formats, there isn't really any. I don't like line breaks
and I use 3 spaces for indentation..but it's really up to each team to
create it's own standards. If you can't stand horizontal scrolling, then
maybe you should wrap (although, with proper use of CSS, only the most
complex sites, or the smallest monitors, cause a horizontal scroll I find).

Visual Studio 2003 is notorious for messing up your HTML. This is quite
unfortunate and I don't think there's much you can do about it. The 2005
editor is much easier to work with.

Sorry, but I don't think you'll find any automated answer short of working
hard at it.

I have created one webform1.aspx page on local server (c:\inetpub\wwwroot\mysite\prabodh). it executes without any error. when I upload prabodh folder on the main server in (E:\mysite\prabodh) and i have set the properties for this folder.
Now I am getting the following error when i am trying to access the file from my remote machine.
the error is :

dotnet framwork is installed on the server and web.config file
is also there in the root folder of the application.

And I Gave the local user ASPNET read/excecute permissions to your application directory (E:\web\mysite\prabodh\).

If I understand correctly, you want to generate a nine-digit
"random" code that uses all of the digits in 123456789.
(what about "0"?)

What you can do is
1) start with "123456789"
2) generate two random numbers from 0 to 8 (inclusive)
3) exchange the digits at those positions
4) repeat steps 2) and 3) a dozen times.

To generate a random number, see the System.Random class
(create *one* instance, then repeatedly get random numbers
from that class)

To generate nine of these codes, use this repeatedly
but check if you already have this particular code. If
yes, discard this code and generate again.

Is the page being refreshed (postback)?

If yes then go to your code and double click on the button to create the event handler again, then recompile.

If not then tell me to help you sorting that out.

Have you fully compiled your project and deployed the bin directory to your web server?

The page is not beeing refreshed!

The .cs file is probably not beeing loaded at all by the compiler, or second .dll doesn't inherit from the first.

When user clicks on the PRINT button, i like the system automatically print a WEBFORM ASPX file (which is in Report format)..ie, OnClick it should call that ASPX file and print it...

Please advice me (:You have to make a "Printer Friendly Version" button that the user can click to go to that page (or load a pop up) and then call window.print(); (I think).
You can also create a style in your stylesheet that will resize the controls differently for "print" and "screen" situations. This will allow you to auto-resize all pages so they
are printer-friendly.

I'm assuming you have something like an array (list) of documents that
you would like to choose from to print...

I had the same type of task...

I completed it with having a button for each entry on the form, and when
the user pressed a button, a child window (popup) would display the
form (or PDF)
The popup window had a header frame that allowed the user to print or
cancel the form...

the trick was, once the popup window ready to be displayed, i would create
a DIV tag around the entire contents, and the print button would print the
contents of the DIV tag...

I also added a little model window magic - to keep the child window
open until the user closes the popup.

Worked like a champ.

ASP.NET creates a new page object to service each request. This typically makes the application faster, more scalable and more reliable.

Therefore, you cannot maintain state in a field within a class (as you're attempting to do above).

You either need to store the data on the page (using ViewState, which generates a hidden field in the HTML) or in a Session object.

Both of these use simple indexing to put data in and get data out, as shown below:

ViewState("TempValue") = 10 ' put a value into the ViewState collection for this page

Dim i As Integer = CInt( ViewState("TempValue" ) ) ' get the value back out of the ViewState collection

Normally you should add code to make sure that the value you're reading is not nothing.

Be aware that ViewState data is present in the client HTML and can thus be read (and altered) unless you turn on ViewState protection. ViewState can really only be used on a single page.

Session data, on the other hand, is maintained on the Server and is thus more secure. Session can also be used across multiple pages.

You might want to check out some of the posts in the State Management forum (and in the ASP.NET documentation) for more details on ASP.NET state management technologies.

in your button click you've written temp = some value in for i=1 to 100, ok. so what will happen is at last it will contain values for i=100.

to persist value of temp you could store it in viewstate or a hidden field with runat=server. then in page load set temp = viewstate("temp")

then set lable.text = temp.
